Slide Shows from the John Riha Collection For
almost 50 years, my father John Riha documented Chicago's amazing variety of railroads
during a rapidly-changing time for both the railroad's and the region. So far,
four programs have been created featuring my father's (and others) photgraphs
set to music.

look at the EJ&E from the mid-1960s until it's last day as an independent
railroad. Originally presented in 2008, it has been update with photos from the
J's last day of operation on January 31, 2009. Featuring music of

Griffith Show Throughout
the 60s and early 70s, Griffith, Indiana was one of the hottest spots in the Chicagoland
and Nortwest Indiana area, featuring trains from the Grand Trunk Western, Erie
Lackawanna, Chesapeake & Ohio, EJ&E, Penn Central and Amtrak. Catch the
endless parade of trains set to the music of Guess Who. Pink Floyd, B.B. King,

the incredible varierty of railroading in Nortwest Indiana before the mega-mergers.
See hotspots like Valparaiso, Wellsboro and Hohman Avenue in Hammond. Take a look

Last Days of the Rock Created
to recognize the 30th anniversary of the shutdown of the Rock Island, this show
takes a year-by-year look at the mighty fine line from 1969 through
1980 at Chicago-area locations from LaSalle Street Station to Joliet. (Preview
